Our Cherry Blossom preschool has a three- and a four-day offering for three-to-four-year-olds, with our three-day preschoolers meeting Monday through Wednesday and our four-day preschoolers meeting Monday through Thursday. Both classes meet from 8:30 a.m. through 12:30 p.m.  Structured for three-to-four-year olds, the class provides the same home-like environment available in our Starlight kindergarten, but gives the younger child a special place to call their own. For many three-and-four-year-olds, preschool is a first opportunity to learn to play constructively with friends, developing important social skills like sharing and managing their emotions. The Cherry Blossom preschool classroom gives them the space to develop these skills in a place all their own before moving up to the four- and five-day Starlight Kindergarten.

Outdoor play is part of the daily rhythm.

Preschoolers play outdoors rain or shine.

The rhythm prevalent in Waldorf education permeates the Cherry Blossom preschool, as well. These younger students enjoy a welcoming presence in the classroom as school starts, followed by a good long hour of free play in the classroom stocked with wooden toys and other natural-fiber toys. Cloth dolls, wooden animals, play kitchens, colorful silks, all beckon to their imagination. The day includes circle time with singing, story time, snack time and outdoor play. A regular rhythm in the days and weeks is a comfort to children of this age, as they build security in knowing what to expect.
